Experienced and knowledgeable private guide
Mark is a knowledgeable private guide with good English skills. He always had a story or tips to share at each location we visited. Also he and Mr Joe the driver were very flexible. We were there leading up to a military parade and so some locations were restricted around Tiananmen Square and so they worked late to help us navigate the situation and accomplish our goal to see the square. more

Itinerary Quick Look

Your private guide will meet you at around 8:00am in your hotel lobby. Transfer to the Gubeikou Great Wall
The Gubeikou section is completely wild and holds significant historical interest. Your guide will share stories that took place in this section.
After about 2 hours of hiking on the Gubeikou section of the Great Wall, you will need to descend from the wall to avoid a military area. Walking along a path through cornfields for 1½ hours, you will reach the Wall again at the Jinshanling section.
Lunch is at a restaurant near Jinshanling. Then transfer to the campping site by the Jinshanling Great Wall. Enjoy a BBQ dinner and a memorable night right by the Great Wall.
Hiking distance:10 km (6 miles)
Enjoy a sunrise before starting today's hike.
It takes about 3 hours to hike from Jinshanling to Simatai West, the junction of the Jinshanling and Simatai sections.
This section has breathtaking views and offers stunning photo opportunities that vary with the seasons. As this section is half-restored, you can see both the unrepaired ancient watchtowers and a restored section of the Wall during the hike.
After the hike, transfer back to downtown of Beijing.
